*In this personal project, I designed the track and card reader mockups in Midjourney and Photoshop. In addition, I designed the gamification system in Photoshop including character card powerups.
Project Description:
This is a personal project in which I designed a gamification system that answers the question, “What if Super Mario-Kart was real?” To bring this gamification system to life, I designed a built-in card reader into each racer’s kart that would act as a processor used to store character cards. The driver can use these character cards for digital attacks against other drivers during the course of the race. In addition, they can gain points if the attack is used successfully to help give them access to higher quality power-ups.
Furthermore, I created graphics and branding for each of the character cards used to access these attacks. In order to use the card, all the driver has to do is load a character card into their steering wheel and the go-kart selects the best attack based on the current points the driver has. From their, they can have fun firing digital Mario-Kart bananas at their opponents as they race to the finish line.
